Woven Worlds – Auckland Festival of Photography 2025

We’re part of the Auckland Festival of Photography 2025!
Ngā Ara Whetū is holding a collaborative exhibition at Projectspace Gallery for the Auckland Festival of Photography 2025.
Affiliates can submit images to be part of the exhibition, to be displayed at Elam School of Fine Arts.
The exhibition, Woven Worlds: Research, Art and Sustainability, will be guided by the festival theme: Sustain-tautīnei.

The image can be a photograph, or a photograph of a painting or drawing, an image created using software, an image captured using laboratory equipment.
If your submission is shortlisted, you will be invited to display the image in the showcase exhibition.
You send your digital files, we print the images! Be in to win the vote for the ‘People’s Choice’ award.

Terms and conditions that Affiliates need to agree to if they want to enter:
Entry is open to Affiliated Researchers and Affiliated Students.
Ngā Ara Whetū Centre for Climate, Biodiversity and Society will print your image in A2 format (four times the size of A4), so it needs to be submitted as a high-resolution digital file.
Ngā Ara Whetū Centre for Climate, Biodiversity and Society reserves the right to review the image and ask entrants to modify the image to ensure it meets University of Auckland health and safety policy, research ethics guidelines and equity policy, or to preserve the entrant’s intellectual property rights.
I hereby consent to the University of Auckland uploading the image into the University of Auckland Figshare repository using a CC BY 4.0 Licence.
Only one entry per person is allowed.
Please declare if AI was used in the process of creating the image in your submission.
To enter, an entry form must be submitted. An image file JPEG or TIFF (saved as a TIFF or PDF format) must be placed in Filesender, and a link pasted into the entry form by the given deadline.

Full credit for photographs will be given each time they are used.
Printing Specifications
- Images are at least at 300dpi, saved at the correct print size (ie A1, A2 or A3 widths). Anything lower quality can be resampled, but this will affect print quality.
- Images should be colour correct to CMYK (for print) not RGB, this will be more accurate to how the images will print out.
- Files should be saved with the desired borders included in the image.
- Files (includes JPEGS) should be saved in tiff or pdf format for submission.
