The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a call for action by all countries, poor, rich and middle-income, to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They are the cornerstones of the global roadmap to tackling the causes of violent conflict, human rights abuses, climate change and environmental degradation.

Ngā Ara Whetū affiliates are contributing to the SDGs through their work in research, education and engagement. Posts on our website are now referenced with the relevant goals to help link affiliates with each other and external communities working towards similar objectives.

For more information on the goals see the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs – Sustainable Development.

University of Auckland academics can find information here about elevating research using SDG key words.
